The Sauna Corner® Code of Ethics

At The Sauna Corner®, we are committed to delivering sauna education and experiences with integrity, care, and respect for individuals, communities, and the traditions of sauna practice. This Code of Ethics outlines the standards expected of trainees, facilitators, and practitioners trained through The Sauna Corner®.

This Code of Ethics sets out professional standards and expectations. It does not replace or override the Terms & Conditions or any contractual agreements.

Code of Ethics

The Sauna Corner®

1. Respect and Care

Practitioners commit to:

  • Treating all participants with dignity, respect, and non-judgement

  • Creating inclusive, welcoming, and safe sauna environments

  • Respecting personal boundaries, consent, and individual limits

Discrimination, harassment, or coercive behaviour is not tolerated.

2. Safety and Responsibility

Practitioners commit to:

  • Prioritising participant safety at all times

  • Encouraging self-responsibility and informed choice

  • Working within the limits of their training and competence

  • Refraining from giving medical advice or making health claims

Where appropriate, practitioners should advise participants to seek medical guidance.

3. Integrity of Practice

Practitioners commit to:

  • Representing their training honestly and accurately

  • Not misrepresenting themselves as medical professionals

  • Not overstating qualifications or outcomes

  • Upholding the integrity of sauna practice and facilitation

4. Confidentiality and Trust

Practitioners commit to:

  • Respecting participant privacy and confidentiality

  • Not sharing personal information or experiences without consent

  • Handling sensitive situations with discretion and care

5. Professional Boundaries

Practitioners commit to:

  • Maintaining clear professional boundaries

  • Avoiding exploitative, manipulative, or inappropriate relationships

  • Refraining from behaviour that could bring the profession or The Sauna Corner® into disrepute

​

6. Cultural Respect

Practitioners commit to:

  • Acknowledging the cultural roots and traditions of sauna practice

  • Avoiding appropriation or misrepresentation

  • Practising with humility and respect for lineage and context

​

7. Intellectual Property and Attribution

Practitioners commit to:

  • Respecting the intellectual property of The Sauna Corner®

  • Not copying, reproducing, or teaching proprietary materials

  • Giving appropriate attribution where relevant and permitted

8. Accountability

Breaches of this Code of Ethics may result in:

  • Review or discussion with The Sauna Corner®

  • Withdrawal of certification or recognition

  • Removal from training or professional association with The Sauna Corner®

​

9. Ongoing Practice

Ethical practice is an ongoing commitment. Practitioners are encouraged to:

  • Reflect on their work

  • Seek feedback

  • Continue learning and development
